Bushwalk from Home

After checking out the house and surrounding space, you might be ready to explore and go for a walk! The best way is to go up the hill behind the house. There is a bush path past the shed, just head up cross country, you will find caves to explore, a little rainforest and wonderful bushland.

Nearing the top you will come across a fire trail, turn to your left and follow to the end, turn left again and this road with take you back to our front gate. The walk takes 3-4 hours so make sure to have adequate footwear and a bottle of water! Chat with us if you like to know more.

Enjoy an Outdoor Fire

Enjoy cooking over the fire on the metal rack or the gas BBQ, roast marshmallows, share stories and enjoy the stars on a clear night sky.

It’s great fun collecting kindling and building an outdoor fire to enjoy in the evenings (we supply outdoor fire wood in the winter months).

Please note there are no fires in the summer months, as there are often total fire bans in place.

Wine tasting

There are many wineries close to the cottage, the Wollombi Wine Trail and Mount View Wine Region are right on our doorstep.

Visit Wollombi has an excellent list of wineries to sample, as does Wine Country for events and cellar doors in the Pokolbin area.

Aboriginal Guided Bushwalk

Girri Girra offers Aboriginal guided bush walks through Yengo National Park and Wollombi Valley.
